Wearing the Cub Scout uniform helps Scouts feel like they’re part of a team. No matter their age, school, or experience, putting on the uniform shows that they belong to the Scouting community and share its values.
The uniform also tells the story of a Scout’s journey! Patches and insignia show where they belong and the ranks they’ve earned, while belt loops recognize the Adventures they’ve completed along the way. As Scouts learn new skills, try new things, and reach new goals, their uniform becomes a visible record of everything they’ve accomplished.
Our Class A uniform is the traditional Cub Scout uniform and is what Scouts wear to Den Meetings, Pack Meetings, and most other Scouting events unless we let families know otherwise.
For Pack 2113, the Class A uniform includes the official Cub Scout uniform shirt, neckerchief, and slide. Scouts may wear the shirt with clean navy shorts, pants, jeans, or skirts—families do not need to purchase official Scout uniform pants or shorts.
Before you buy a uniform shirt, check with us! We keep a collection of gently used Class A shirts that have been donated by Pack families after Scouts outgrow them or move to the Troop, and we’re happy to pass them along to another Scout when we have the right size available.
We also provide neckerchiefs and slides. When Scouts move up to their next rank, they simply return their previous neckerchief and slide and receive the ones for their new rank. There’s no need to purchase a new set every year unless your Scout would like to keep theirs.
Hats are optional. We sometimes have donated hats available, or families who would like one can purchase the appropriate rank hat from the Scout Shop.
Our Class B uniform is the Pack T-shirt and is worn for more active and casual Scouting adventures—things like camp, hikes, outdoor activities, and other events where a uniform shirt isn't particularly practical. We’ll always let families know ahead of time when Scouts should wear their Class B instead of their Class A.
Every Scout receives one Pack 2113 Class B T-shirt when they join, at no additional cost. Additional or replacement shirts—such as when a Scout outgrows theirs—can be purchased from the Pack for $12.
